our five pillars
Our founding vision is to serve teachers, homeschoolers, families, and self learners all over the world who want to learn and teach art.
We believe that art curriculum should be affordable so that anyone can access it.
We see the creative process and the visual arts as a counterbalance to the constant stimulation and distraction from screens.
We believe art has a great potential for playfulness and exploration, and work to ensure each lesson is instilled with the creative, playful mindset.
Our goal is to make learning and teaching art fun, easy, and stress-free.
We believe the arts are the key to a well-rounded lifestyle. For students, our lessons demonstrate thoughtful integration with other subjects such as ELA, Science, and Math.

Professional Development and Art Education Curriculum for art teachers including teachers without an art education background
Our founder, Deb Karpman, is a veteran art teacher, college art professor, and higher education leader who is passionate about expanding access to high quality art education. Paper Kaleidoscope grew out of a side project that our founder, Deb Karpman, started in 2025. With more than 250K people tuning in monthly, Deb saw how there was a lack of high quality, easy to follow art instruction online, and that it was even more difficult to find a place to get guided and personalized feedback. Always someone who loves to trailblaze a new path, Deb created Paper Kaleidoscope with three major goals:
To make it easier for mid-career professionals to learn art, especially for those juggling careers and family.
To provide both foundational and advanced art instruction to creative, curious teens.
To provide art teachers an easy to use and affordable teacher professional development and art education curriculum hub.
